Design of wireless controlled robotic hand

Kızıltaş, Faruk Sanberk

Thanks to the rapid technological development, robot usage in human life increases day by day. Various kinds of robots that are designed for different tasks aim to increase the quality of human life by replacing or reducing required human power in related areas. Being able to interact robots from a distance by using wireless communication not only provide mobility and ease of use to the user but also promote the usage of robots into various areas. Considering these, this study aims to design a lower degrees of freedom robotic hand with respect to the natural anatomy of the hand and control i ...Daha fazlası

Computer based X-Ray imaging device design alternative using consumer electronic components

Manalp, Alpman

Medical imaging provides images of structures of the body that is not visible to human eye. It is a basic need that determines the irregularities, abnormalities, parts with different densities, spaces and foreign objects that is not supposed to be in the body. It has major importance for fast and correct diagnose. Imaging is frequently used for periodic scans for early diagnostic and follow up scans of treated patients. No matter how important it is, accessibility of the imaging devices especially digital imaging systems that provides real time images is extremely limited. There are very ...Daha fazlası

Synthesis and application of the iridium semiconductor complexes for organic light emitting diodes

Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) is a multi-disciplinary research area. Due to the possibility of being produced in different designs and low costs, studies on the research and development of energy efficient structures have increased. These expectations have increased so much that research on new types of molecules and device designs is increasing with the expectation that OLEDs will be more efficient than all available light sources and that almost 100% of the energy used can be converted to light. Transition metal complexes, especially Iridium(III) complexes, which make them phosphores ...Daha fazlası

Modeling and experimental study of turbulent newtonian fluid in fully eccentric annulus considering temperature and pipe rotation effects

In this work, the effect of temperature on the pressure loss of Newtonian fluid in a fully eccentric annulus with pipe rotation is investigated. For this purpose, initially comprehensive experimental study has been conducted at Izmir Katip Celebi University (IKCU), Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics Laboratory of Civil Engineering Department. Effect of temperature has been observed for flow velocities from 0.7 m/s to 3.4 m/s, for pipe rotations from 0 rpm to 120 rpm, and for temperatures is from 20 °C to 65 °C. The pressure loss within the test section is recorded. An increase in the liquid temper ...Daha fazlası

Enhancement of the electrical properties of graphene for electronic devices

Ersu, Gülsüm

Graphene, a one-atom-thick two-dimensional material, has drawn great interest for many electronic and optoelectronic applications due to its extraordinary properties. The properties of the graphene can be modified with different chemical methods and introduced new properties, which widens its potential for applications. The non-covalent modification of graphene is one of the basic techniques for modifying the electrical properties of graphene without disrupting the structure. In this thesis, the high-quality graphene has been synthesized and electrical properties of graphene have been tuned b ...Daha fazlası

A visiual isarithmic mapping tool for online maps

Atalay, Hatice

Within the scope of the thesis study, interpolation methods used for evaluating spatially varying data and for presenting the information obtained from the data via maps were investigated. A method for generating an open source web based interpolation map for the most commonly used interpolation methods is presented. Today, many commercial Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software are used in the production of interpolation maps. However, this situation causes the users to pay a large amount of money or use cracked programs. Although there are open source softwares, which can create interp ...Daha fazlası

Nanocomposites with graphene

The carbon fiber used in the manufacturing of advanced composites has various applications in the automotive, aerospace, and electronics industry because of their comprehensive properties such as lightweight, flexibility, high strength to weight ratio, excellent chemical resistance, superior electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity. Different kinds of carbon fiber precursors have been used and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is the mostly utilized polymer type which is a petroleum-based, expensive and unsustainable. Remarkably, lignin is a highly accessible, low-cost, and renewable resource. ...Daha fazlası

Effects of beta -tricalcium phosphate concentration on osteogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells in chitosan based composite scaffolds

Demirci, Emine Afra

Today, tissue transplant applications are widely used for repair of damaged hard tissue. Despite the gold standard of autografts, interest in synthetic bone grafts produced by tissue engineering techniques is increasing day by day, due to limiting factors such as damage to the tissue site and limited graft availability in allografts, and the risk of developing an immune system response in allografts. Many bioceramic materials, including β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP), hydroxyapatite (HA) and calcium sulfate, are widely used in bone tissue engineering. β-TCP has been the most preferred biocerami ...Daha fazlası

Design and development of a collimator mechanism that will be utilized in radiation therapy

Yazıcı, Mustafa Volkan

This thesis focuses on a Multileaf Collimator design that can shape the beam contour to fit the shape of target geometry and its design improvements. Main purpose of this design is lowering the number of leaves on the multileaf collimator and making the system easier to be controlled. As the Collimator devices undertake the most important point of the beam shaping procedure, ease of control and precision of collimator devices are the major points of operation. As the radiation therapy is one of the most complex and vital medical operations, this thesis started with the deep literature survey ...Daha fazlası

Smart business accounting software as an android mobile application using artificial imtelligence

Okyay, Muhammet Serhat

In this study, the necessary data obtained from the databases (such as MSSQL, Mysql, Postgre SQL, etc.) of the softwares like ETA and NETSİS that are used for preaccountancy of the local and global companies were read, some of the data were written to the databases, and this data was used by the end user by using mobile phones or tablets carrying Android operating systems and working with Internet and cloud technology. In addition, new data sets that are collected on a cloud system from the accounting data while the company is on was studied by genetic algorithms which are one of the artificia ...Daha fazlası

Custom designed optical tweezer for trapping yeast cells

Çobanoğlu, Nur

The goal of this study is developing custom designed optical tweezer which uses two He-Ne lasers (λ=632.8 nm) parallel to each other to trap yeast cells. The characteristic specs of this optical tweezer determined by Brownian Motion of polystyrene beads in water. Stiffness and trapping forces of optical tweezer calculated for laser 1, laser 2 and when both lasers used simultaneously. Laser 2 can trap and move particle to laser 1 and multiple particles can be trapped by the laser 1. After determination of specs of optical tweezer, yeast cells in yogurt culture medium were trapped by lase ...Daha fazlası

The effect of pulsed electromagnetic fields for in vitro wound healing exposure systems

Gümüşay, Mehmet

THE EFFECT OF PULSED ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS FOR IN VITRO WOUND HEALING EXPOSURE SYSTEMS SUMMARY Electromagnetic fields have achieved important role as stimulator and therapeutic facility in biology and medicine (Blank & Findl, 2013). The effects of low magnitude, low frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields have been a period of study since past few decades, which was mainly on the treating soft tissue injuries, skin ulcers, nonuniform bone fractures and degenerative nerve healing (Hug & Röösli, 2012b). Chronic wounds are a major healthcare problem for patient morbidity and contribute signi ...Daha fazlası
