Böyle bir bilimsel komite, bilim insanlarının denizel yaşamı ve sahip olduğu değerleri anlatmak için gösterdiği çabayı daha görünür hale getirme potansiyeline sahiptir.ABSTRACTEconomic, technological, military and scientific developments have led to the transportation of human beings to the known. The increase in opportunities over time has directed human beings under water. With the people's increasing interest and demands to the underwater, technological developments for diving have accelerated. With technological advances, underwater discoveries have started to take place on a scientific basis. The importance of scientific diving, which is an important scientific breakthrough, is increasing day by day. In this study, rather than being a compilation of researches conducted using scientific diving, it was aimed to make a quantity synthesis of the current marine sciences faculties of state universities, which is one of the main disciplines that use diving as a tool or purpose at universities in our country. The study was carried out between May 2018 - August 2019 with face-to-face and online surveys with academics and graduate students working in the universities of fisheries, fisheries technology engineering and marine sciences. Only three of sixty-five divers participating in the survey have scientific divers certificate. 62 of the participants are of the opinion that it should not be obligatory to obtain a scientific diver certificate, which is currently valid in our country. However, 55 of the participants think that a national scientific diving committee should be established. Such a scientific committee has the potential to make scientists' effort to explain marine life and its values more visible.
