Olive leaf powder and boron reinforced polypropylene composites Zeytin yaprağı tozu ve bor katkılı polipropilen kompozitleri

Kara, Hilal

SUMMARYPlastics have a wide application area in our daily life because of the properties such as being inexpensive, lightweight and easy to take shape. Plastics can lead to some problems such as endangering human health and reducing the life of the material, because the plastic surfaces are so available for microorganisms to form a biofim by holding onto the surface easily. Researches for antibacterial materials containing various natural and inorganic substances has been increased and become more important because of that people are often infected by microorganisms such as bacteria, molds, ye ...Daha fazlası

Reproduction and population structure of the sea cucumber Holothuria tubulosa in the Dardanelles Strait (Turkey)

MEHMET ÇULHA | HAKKI DERELİ | SANİYE TÜRK ÇULHA

This study investigated Holothuria tubulosa, Gmelin 1791 in the Dardanelles Strait from April 2013 to March 2014, in order to outline the morphological characteristics, reproductive patterns and the relationship between population characteristics and environmental parameters. 15 to 30 individuals of this species were sampled monthly at three stations. There was a negative allometry between length and weight, with gutted weight being the most reliable measurement for this species. The reproductive patterns of the species were identified for the first time for examples from the Turkish coast ...Daha fazlası

Heavy Metal Accummulation in Muscles and Total Bodies of Mullus barbatus, Trachurus trachurus and Engraulis encrasicolus Captured from the Coast of Sinop, Black Sea

SANİYE TÜRK ÇULHA | MEHMET ÇULHA

The levels of heavy metals viz., Cd, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pb, Zn and Al were determined by ICP-AES in the muscles and total bodies of Mullus barbatus (Linnaeus 1758), Trachurus trachurus (Linnaeus 1758), Engraulis encrasicolus (Linnaeus 1758) captured from the coast of Sinop. The order of the levels of the heavy metals in the total fish samples was Fe > Zn > Al > Pb > Cu > Ni > Cd, whereas in the muscles, the order was Zn > Fe > Cu > Al > Pb > Ni > Cd. The experiment results are discussed by comparison with literature values.

Assessment of trace metal contamination in the sea cucumber (Holothuria tubulosa) and sediments from the Dardanelles Strait (Turkey)

SANİYE TÜRK ÇULHA | HAKKI DERELİ | MEHMET ÇULHA

This study was performed to determine the concentrations of some trace metals (Cd, Cu, Pb, Ni, Zn, and Fe) in Holothuria tubuosa (Gmelin, 1788) belonging to Echinoderm species and in sediments that they live at three different stations (Gelibolu, Umur Bey/Lapseki, and Dardanos) on Dardanelles Strait between April 2013 and March 2014. The mean trace metal concentrations determined in H. tubulosa and sediment were as follows: Cd 0.18 mg/kg, Cu 2.43 mg/ kg, Pb 2.09 mg/kg, Ni 14.58 mg/kg, Zn 16.86 mg/kg, and Fe 73.46 mg/kg and Cd 0.70 mg/kg, Cu 5.03 mg/kg, Pb 14.57 mg/kg, Ni 27.15 mg/kg, ...Daha fazlası

Heavy metals in tissues of scorpionfish (Scorpaena porcus) caught from Black Sea (Turkey) and potential risks to human health

SANİYE TÜRK ÇULHA

Scorpionfish (Scorpaena porcus) is a demersal fish species commercially important for its of which meat is tough and delicious. The aim of this study was to determine heavy metal (Al, Cu, Ni, As, Cd, Hg, Pb, U) concentrations in this fish species which is traditionally consumed in the Black Sea Area and, to compare the concentrations of various toxic elements in different organs of the fish specimens (muscle, liver, gill, and skin). Within this scope, the mineralization was performed using microwave digestion system. Thirty-two scor pionfish caught from Sinop Inland Port during 2010 w ...Daha fazlası

Assessment of real estate ownershıp ıssues In urban regeneratıon projects ın turkey

Konbul, Yunus

ASSESSMENT OF REAL ESTATE OWNERSHIP ISSUES IN URBAN REGENERATION PROJECTS IN TURKEY SUMMARY Illegal settlements, urban sprawl and old urban areas can be transformed into livable spaces with urban regeneration projects. Especially because of the earthquake risk and its low quality building stock, Turkey is one of the countries where implementation of those projects is vital. However, real estate ownership problems experienced at the beginning of the urban regeneration projects hinder implementations of the projects. Therefore, identifying and eliminating those problems can help carry out the pr ...Daha fazlası

Audiometer device design with integration of different sources = Farklı kaynaklara entegre işitme cihazı tasarımı

Uzun, Yiğit Ömer

Audiometry is the technique to identify the nature of hearing loss and to determine the threshold of hearing by recording responses of the patient after presenting him with auditory stimuli with varying intensity levels. There are different audiometric techniques and procedures used for achieving this. The vast majority of medical devices found in the marketplace as a commercial product for the field of audiology have been developed for clinical limited testing. These devices cannot be used for purposes other than those specified by the manufacturer. This has serious limitations in the experim ...Daha fazlası

Fuzzy logic modelling of sediment transport in annulus

Müftüoğlu, Tevfik Denizhan

The understanding of sediment transport with fluid in pipes is one of the important issues in hydraulics engineering. If the fluid velocity is lower than a critical value, a stationary cuttings bed develops, which may cause excessive head loss. In this study, a Fuzzy Logic (FL) model is developed to estimate stationary cuttings bed thickness inside the annulus. Experimental data is collected from literature in order to train proposed models. Results showed that the cuttings bed thickness could be estimated using the developed model with a reasonable accuracy when compared with the experimental ...Daha fazlası

Urban regeneration strategies for supporting social sustainability of Roma community: Izmir-Ege neighbourhood urban regeneration project

Cin, Mehmet Melih

Urban regeneration greatly affect marginalized groups both across the world and in Turkey and therefore it is a hot topic in the public discussions of urban context. One of those marginalized groups are Roma communities. Their neighborhoods, particularly inner urban areas, face social and physical decay due to discrimination against Roma communities. To address these social and physical problems, urban regenerations projects have been launched in Turkey in the name of improving life standards of Roma citizens. However, implementations could not go further than improving physical conditions of ...Daha fazlası

Fuzzy delphi method to direct urban renegeration project assessment: Bornova-Kızılay neighborhood

Çupı, Romjana

Resident satisfaction is an important issue in urban regeneration projects (URP). In the western countries, the resident satisfaction from residential environments continues to be an important topic for researchers and the data found well preserved and integrated into real projects. In Turkey, yet, there is little research on residential satisfaction in many urban regeneration projects implemented. In Turkey, up to the present, research carried out about urban analysis and residential satisfaction needed in any urban regeneration project, is little evident in implemented UR projects. Izmir is ...Daha fazlası
