In this study, the impact of fish meal, which is used as a source of animal protein in fish feed, on the growth and feed performance of pangasius (Pangasius hypophthalmus, S. 1878) fish by substituting with wheat gluten in different proportions is examined. As a feed reference, fish meal % 42 (BU42) used, on the other trial feeds by decreasing the fish meal rate as % 22 (BU22), % 12 (BU12) and % 0 (BU0) and by making no difference on protein - fat level (% 45 protein, % 10 fat) wheat gluten was added. The growth parameters, feeding performance, the body with the chemical composition of fatty acid and amino acid profiles of pangasius fish, which were fed with trial feeds for 12 weeks with 80 L capacity of 12 units in the aquarium, have been identified. During the trial study, water temperature, dissolved oxygen and pH values for all groups remained similar range (p > 0.05). During the this high level of death was recorded in all groups and the total survival percentage of BU22, BU12, BU42 and BU0 groups was observed as % 60, % 55, % 55 and % 45 respectively. While BU22 and BU42 groups feed consumption values were determined significantly higher than BU0 and BU12 groups feed consumption values (p < 0.05), BU0 and BU12 groups feed consumption values were detected similar (p > 0.05). SGR value of BU0 group was found significantly lower than the average SGR value of BU12, BU22 and BU42 groups (p < 0.05), but the different SGR values of BU12, BU22 and BU42 were found as significantly lower (p > 0.05). There wasn’t a statistical difference among BU12, BU22 and BU42 groups feed conversion ratio, whereas the feed conversion of BU0 group was found higher when compared to other groups. Protein amount used for growth was calculated as in the group of BU0 1956 gr, in the group of BU12 690 gr, in the group of BU22 758 gr, in the group of BU42 643 gr. BU0, BU12, BU22 and BU42 trial groups energy amount used for kg gowth was calclated as 86.5 MJ, 32.2 MJ, 33.2 MJ and 28.6 MJ respectively. There weren’t any significant differences between the ratio of the body moisture and protein content of the trial groups (p > 0.05). However fat content of the BU12 group was found more than the other groups (p < 0.05), origin fishes and BU0 group ash values were found higher than the other groups (p < 0.05). Trial groups body omega – 3 (C18:3 n3, C20:3 n3) and omega - 6 (C18:3 n6, C220+C20:3 n6) fatty acids rates were observed lower than origin fishes. Trial fishes essantial amino acid values were determined as follows; origin fish, BU0, BU12, BU22 and BU42 groups, % 11.85, % 9.12, % 11.39, % 11.97 and % 10.92 respectively. Trytophan was not detected in any trial fish. According to the survey results; it is found that the substitution of pangasius feed as %12 with wheat gluten affect the growth and feed performance positively. However, due to this type of fish get stressed very quickly, it is advised to be so sensitive in the trials of feeding and growing of pangasius fish under aquarium conditions Daha fazlası Daha az
