The study was performed between March 2009
and March 2010 at the Sinop Inner Harbor on cultured
mussels at the offshore submerged longline system. The
samples of mussels, sediment and suspended particulate
matter were seasonally taken for the purpose of monitoring
differences of metal contents. In addition, burnable organic
matter, contamination factors (CF), pollution load index
(PLI) in sediment samples, meat yield of mussels were
seasonally determined. All metals in suspended particulate
matter were found to be above the national limit. Cd
concentration in sediment was above the l ...Daha fazlası
The levels of heavy metals viz., Cd, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pb, Zn and Al were determined by ICP-AES in the
muscles and total bodies of Mullus barbatus (Linnaeus 1758), Trachurus trachurus (Linnaeus 1758),
Engraulis encrasicolus (Linnaeus 1758) captured from the coast of Sinop. The order of the levels of
the heavy metals in the total fish samples was Fe > Zn > Al > Pb > Cu > Ni > Cd, whereas in the
muscles, the order was Zn > Fe > Cu > Al > Pb > Ni > Cd. The experiment results are discussed by
comparison with literature values.
This study was performed to determine the concentrations
of some trace metals (Cd, Cu, Pb, Ni, Zn, and Fe) in
Holothuria tubuosa (Gmelin, 1788) belonging to Echinoderm
species and in sediments that they live at three different stations
(Gelibolu, Umur Bey/Lapseki, and Dardanos) on
Dardanelles Strait between April 2013 and March 2014. The
mean trace metal concentrations determined in H. tubulosa
and sediment were as follows: Cd 0.18 mg/kg, Cu 2.43 mg/
kg, Pb 2.09 mg/kg, Ni 14.58 mg/kg, Zn 16.86 mg/kg, and Fe
73.46 mg/kg and Cd 0.70 mg/kg, Cu 5.03 mg/kg, Pb
14.57 mg/kg, Ni 27.15 mg/kg, ...Daha fazlası
This study investigated Holothuria tubulosa, Gmelin 1791 in the Dardanelles Strait from April 2013 to March 2014, in order
to outline the morphological characteristics, reproductive patterns and the relationship between population characteristics and
environmental parameters. 15 to 30 individuals of this species were sampled monthly at three stations. There was a negative allometry
between length and weight, with gutted weight being the most reliable measurement for this species. The reproductive
patterns of the species were identified for the first time for examples from the Turkish coast ...Daha fazlası
