Technical investgation for the use of textile waste fiber types in new generation composite plasters

Kalkan, Şevket Onur

Garment and textile production industry is one of the main sectors of our country. This sector is a major driving force in our developing economy. According to 2014 data, Turkey is the third country on textile export among the European countries. Besides, Turkey is the world's sixth largest garment exporter. With such a huge production power, in Turkey’s textile sector, waste and/or residual textile materials are composed depends on the large scale production, as in most of the other production sectors. Such waste materials in textile industry are the left materials from production stag ...Daha fazlası

Synthesis of imidazole derivatives and their binderless immobilization to fabric to load antibacterial properties

Mutlu, Nurgül

The compounds bonded with functional groups in textile materials carry the economical support material property. The complex and/or organic compounds with the desired properties can be immobilized into the textile materials by using the reactivity of hydroxyl groups of cellulose and the NH2 groups in wool. Most of commercially purchased silver salts show a rapid release of silver in water because of their ionic structure. For this reason, they exhibit high antibacterial activity but the short-term. N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes have the long-term antibacterial effects by releasing the ...Daha fazlası

The effect of RGD pertide on cell proliferation and vasculogenesis during microtissue formation

Yaralı, Ziyşan Buse

3D (Dimensional) microtissues are commonly used in regenerative medicine, medicine design, toxicology studies and advance cancer research. Microtissues which are constructed by this technique mimic natural in vivo condition and it stands for shifting form between in vitro studies and in vivo research. Scaffold-free microtissues produce own extracellular matrix and cells proliferate faster. However microtissue is used in vitro experiments, they mimic in vivo condition by producing own matrix. Recently, RGD peptides which are commonly used biomaterials consist of GRGDS sequences and it has acti ...Daha fazlası

OPTIMUM DESIGN OF ANTI-BUCKLING BEHAVIOUR OF THE LAMINATED COMPOSITES BY DIFFERENTIAL EVOLUTION AND SIMULATED ANNEALING ALGORITHMS

Akçair, Mehmet

Laminate composites can be used quite naturally in automotive, marine, aviation and other engineering branches. Determination of buckling load capacity under in-plane composite loads of composite plates is very important for the design of composite structures. In this thesis, Differential Evolution (DE) and Simulated Annealing (SA) are utilized for optimal stacking sequence of a laminated composite plate, which is simply supported on four edges and is subjected to biaxial in-plane compressive loads. The optimization problem parameters are defined as (i) Objective function: critical buck ...Daha fazlası

Simulation and design of a glider swarm robotics platform

Gül, Kasım

The main purpose of my thesis is to develop a Swarm Robotics Platform which will use Cellular Automata Glider model and generate itself with “Game of Life” rules. The method was experimentally tested with autonomous mobile robots and real-time PC based simulation software, in all cases very good paths were obtained with negligible processing effort, and low cost production. Presented results indicate that the Cellular Automata approach is a very promising method for real time path planning and Glider like robotic swarms can be used for self-replicating and moving swarm robots. We desig ...Daha fazlası

Design and development of a collimator mechanism that will be utilized in radiation therapy

Yazıcı, Mustafa Volkan

This thesis focuses on a Multileaf Collimator design that can shape the beam contour to fit the shape of target geometry and its design improvements. Main purpose of this design is lowering the number of leaves on the multileaf collimator and making the system easier to be controlled. As the Collimator devices undertake the most important point of the beam shaping procedure, ease of control and precision of collimator devices are the major points of operation. As the radiation therapy is one of the most complex and vital medical operations, this thesis started with the deep literature survey ...Daha fazlası

A visiual isarithmic mapping tool for online maps

Atalay, Hatice

Within the scope of the thesis study, interpolation methods used for evaluating spatially varying data and for presenting the information obtained from the data via maps were investigated. A method for generating an open source web based interpolation map for the most commonly used interpolation methods is presented. Today, many commercial Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software are used in the production of interpolation maps. However, this situation causes the users to pay a large amount of money or use cracked programs. Although there are open source softwares, which can create interp ...Daha fazlası

A design of ethylene Removal non-woven textile by using natural zeolite and potassium permanganate = Doğal zeolitler ve potasyum permanganat kullanılarak etilen tutucu dokusuz yüzey tekstil ürününün tasarlanması

Duru, Ayşenur

A DESIGN OF ETHYLENE REMOVAL NON-WOVEN TEXTILE BY USING NATURAL ZEOLITE AND POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE ABSTRACT Ethylene has a significant role in plants development and maturing and isproduced as gas hormone by plants themselves. In 1 μL L-1 concentrations, it has beneficial effects for fresh vegetables and fruits (FFV) but when this gas is accumulated around the FFV it causes aging and deterioration. During the storage, transport and marketing it affects the quality and freshness of FFV. There are technologic solutions for eliminating the ethylene gas accumulating in storage atmosphere probl ...Daha fazlası

The effect of pulsed electromagnetic fields for in vitro wound healing exposure systems

Gümüşay, Mehmet

THE EFFECT OF PULSED ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS FOR IN VITRO WOUND HEALING EXPOSURE SYSTEMS SUMMARY Electromagnetic fields have achieved important role as stimulator and therapeutic facility in biology and medicine (Blank & Findl, 2013). The effects of low magnitude, low frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields have been a period of study since past few decades, which was mainly on the treating soft tissue injuries, skin ulcers, nonuniform bone fractures and degenerative nerve healing (Hug & Röösli, 2012b). Chronic wounds are a major healthcare problem for patient morbidity and contribute signi ...Daha fazlası

Fuzzy logic modelling of sediment transport in annulus

Müftüoğlu, Tevfik Denizhan

The understanding of sediment transport with fluid in pipes is one of the important issues in hydraulics engineering. If the fluid velocity is lower than a critical value, a stationary cuttings bed develops, which may cause excessive head loss. In this study, a Fuzzy Logic (FL) model is developed to estimate stationary cuttings bed thickness inside the annulus. Experimental data is collected from literature in order to train proposed models. Results showed that the cuttings bed thickness could be estimated using the developed model with a reasonable accuracy when compared with the experimental ...Daha fazlası

Audiometer device design with integration of different sources = Farklı kaynaklara entegre işitme cihazı tasarımı

Uzun, Yiğit Ömer

Audiometry is the technique to identify the nature of hearing loss and to determine the threshold of hearing by recording responses of the patient after presenting him with auditory stimuli with varying intensity levels. There are different audiometric techniques and procedures used for achieving this. The vast majority of medical devices found in the marketplace as a commercial product for the field of audiology have been developed for clinical limited testing. These devices cannot be used for purposes other than those specified by the manufacturer. This has serious limitations in the experim ...Daha fazlası

Fuzzy delphi method to direct urban renegeration project assessment: Bornova-Kızılay neighborhood

Çupı, Romjana

Resident satisfaction is an important issue in urban regeneration projects (URP). In the western countries, the resident satisfaction from residential environments continues to be an important topic for researchers and the data found well preserved and integrated into real projects. In Turkey, yet, there is little research on residential satisfaction in many urban regeneration projects implemented. In Turkey, up to the present, research carried out about urban analysis and residential satisfaction needed in any urban regeneration project, is little evident in implemented UR projects. Izmir is ...Daha fazlası
